In our story today, Jesus is in the last stages of His earthly ministry and on the way to Jerusalem, he meets a "rich young ruler" who sincerely wanted to do something to inherit eternal life. Sadly, he walked away from Jesus because he was trusting in his wealth to save him. This story teaches us about the miracle work of God in bringing about salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
